DAWN OF TIME - HOLIDAY NILS REVIEW
Bash Maldonado Aug 3
The first time listening to this record was crazy just because we didn’t know it was coming, he (holiday nils) laid out hints here and there of an album coming but other than that nada. The album starts off with a heartbreaking banger "Let me down", I had no idea What to expect after that, then "like I do" comes on and I just feel like cruising in my S3 with my homeboys, then the emotions of "piece of mind" just gut punch you. I’ve known holiday for a while now maybe a year now, he’s always been the guy I go to for a feature because of his versatility and his care for his art, so it’s no surprise that this album is great, the mix of rap, rock and alternative blend perfectly on here. My personal favorite being "realize", it reminds me so much of myself and my thoughts during a breakup or when you realize the feelings aren’t mutual, "New me" for me at least is like the feeling of breaking from those chains. "I wont forget" is the emotional conclusion of this album, and a perfect one at that, perfectly displaying emotions in lyrics and production. Holiday Nils is a staple of creative versatility.. the world just doesn’t know it yet.
